Thanks James, good that you are aware of origin of problems that your country is facing today. I would say Awesome ! Well (just FYI), who wants to struggle over and over, again and again?
If you want to ship us all back, why don't you arrange for big boat and you be our leader !!! You are very welcome to India.

I agree, increasing numbers of south asians doent want to walk into a marriage. The internet is providing information liberation which inturn is changing primary objectives of south asians. Arranged marriages are decreasingly popular for NRI, Desi and South asians. A new website is http://www.DoYouDesi.com is aimed at thsis group whoa re cultural but dont want parents dictating their lives. www.doyoudesi.com promises to be an interesting alternative.

We need to close the border asap! Indians need to stay in India, they arrive and think they own the place! They have to pay their dues just like every other ethnic group has had to at one time in this nations history. Indians come here and act as if they deserve the respect and such that was bought and payed for by the minority groups such of African Americans and Mexican Americans since the 40s-60s. Indians have not done much in these struggles and are too easily assimilated after 1 generation without a single strand of knowledge and thanks to the minorities struggles in this nations history that have oppened the oppurtunities for them they so enjoy. Eh Indians can get shipped right back to where they came from.

Hi Doc ! Great website found it by searching on google. I agree with the general direction of your latest post about the fundamental lessons of life being taught through marriage. But, are these lessons notional or real, psycho social or truly spiritually dependent on the institution off marriage itself ? Were not many prophets, apostles, saints in the religious tradition single persons who did not have the marriage experience ?
Perhaps, the experience of deeper truth lies somewhere between the throes of marriage and family crisis inevitable along the way, which propels one in the search for happiness and meaning ??
Love your BLOGSPOT its time to update it though by adding some google Ads and links that will put some change in your pockets Doc!

I know from personal experience that nearly every marriage of my family's older generations were not marriages built on shared interests, love for each other and common bonds. Instead, they were couples who got married in their teens because of society's view on what was the 'right' thing to do and then spent their lives together -- often miserably -- too afraid to leave because of the deeply ingrained view that divorce/separation was somehow wrong when it would have clearly been the best option for everyone involved.

The falling numbers of marriages per 1000 women you mention is, in my opinion, due to women (and men) no longer feeling subject to an overwhelming pressure to marry someone just because they happen to have slept together.

It's worth remembering the many, many miserable marriages that were pushed upon people for the entire lives when we hark back to the 'good old days' of almost-forced-marriage.

Cohabiting doesn't have to mean having a carefree attitude towards your relationship and it's wrong to stereotype every cohabiting couple as two commitment-shy, selfish young fools who are only in it for themselves.
