Where do you work from? I normally work from home, but I do meetings at offices. But lately I find myself doing lot of my work at Internet hotspots. In the last month or so, I found myself working in local public library, airport, Starbucks etc. Work is not confined to office or work hours. It goes with you and we are able to work anytime anywhere. The boundaries between life, work and leasure has disappeared!

Working from the Third place is a trend in emerging work habits. According to Dataquest Research, an estimated 30 million Americans, or roughly one-fifth of the nation’s workforce, are part of the so-called Kinko’s generation, employees who spend significant hours each month working outside of a traditional office. This rootless army is growing 10% annually. The reason? Corporations are increasingly supportive of teleworking for reasons that range from saving money on office space to needing a backup in the event of a natural disaster or terror attack. Not to mention inceased connectivity and bandwidth which let you work from anywhere. As long as you produce expected results!

Few sundays ago, I saw someone typing away his PDA during the sermon at my church! Later he told he had some urgent business to take care. His boss had send an email and he needed to respond to it right away.

How is your work habits? Where do you work from? Has it changed lately?
